How To Create Gestures in Open Sim (may also work in SL)

This is a video on how to create gestures for your avatar in OpenSim. (We use the Hippo Open Sim viewer.)

What we're doing now!

OK, so Google did "kill" lively, but in many ways, we've got a better situation. Trevor Meister has become our sponsor and we have an island that we are building using OpenSim on Reaction Grid and We love it!

We are now sharing our tutorials that we are creating and reflections about how to use open sim. Although our island isn't ready for you to visit, stay tuned to our blog and we'll let you know.

Who is the Digiteen Dream Team?

We are ninth grade students at Westwood Schools in Camilla and started this blog to speak out about the fact that Google Lively is shutting down.

We have three major goals at this time:

1) Encouraging Corporate Digital Citizenship

Companies that discontinue services should try to provide alternatives to their users to be able to save content and continue use of the service in other ways. This is good digital citizenship for corporations.

2) Sharing How We Think Virtual Worlds Can be Used in Schools

We believe virtual worlds are great tools and want to share what we've done and how we think companies can profit from providing these services to students like us.

3) Creation of a Digital World to Teach Digital Citizenship to Students

Our dream is to teach digital citizenship to students via an easy to use 3D virtual world that is easily accessible to people who do not have a lot of bandwidth or good computers and allow schools to create rooms at minimal or no expense. We will explore other alternatives, share what we find, and pursue this goal.
